The May Gibbs by Ecology capsule pulls on heart strings as we remember our childhoods with the May Gibbs’ stories and invite the timeless gumnut babies into our homes once again.

May Gibbs is one of Australia's best loved classic children’s' book illustrators and authors. May's deep love and understanding of the Australian bush was portrayed in her work, engendering in children her own love of nature.

Generations of Australians have grown up with Snugglepot & Cuddlepie, with the cherub faced gumnut babies a reminiscent illustration of their own childhoods.

First published in 1918, The Tales of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie follow the magical gumnut babies and their exciting journeys as they meet new friends and navigate their troubles with the scary, banksia men. The bush fairyland that the gumnut babies explore evokes a sentimental connection with readers through the representation of native Australian flora and scenery.

Gibbs left a beautiful legacy upon her passing, by leaving the copyright for all her work to The Northcott Society and Cerebral Palsy Alliance, ensuring continued support to these foundations through royalties from the sales of the May Gibbs Storybooks.

Our May Gibbs by Ecology collection will be available in October 2018
