From Inspiration to Creation: Behind the Scenes of Our Sunkissed Collection

As we prepare to launch 'Sunkissed' next week, let’s take sneak peek at some of our favourite pieces and explore the inspiration behind the collection.

Capturing the Spirit of Summer: The "Sunkissed" Story

This season’s story ties together art, craft, and nature. It’s about channelling that carefree, relaxed spirit and weaving it into every corner of your home. Prints have a hand-drawn quality, featuring organic shapes and textures, while collage-like florals are layered and mimic loosely sketched pencil lines. Warm terracotta tones are a must, and our sun-baked palette of chalky pastel colours helps to re-create that feeling of summer wherever you choose to enjoy its warmth.






Meet Sarah Strickland: The Designer Behind the Scenes

As we approach each new collection, we are passionate about creating pieces that are not only stylish, but also tell a story. Designed in collaboration with our Melbourne-based Product Team, in-house designer Sarah Strickland has brought to life Ecology’s organic, hand drawn style in her own unique way, using a number of artistic mediums for the Sunkissed collection. Sarah created the art behind each pattern from her backyard in the hills of Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs. From watercolours to sun prints, each Sunkissed pattern is infused with a dash of artistry and a whole lot of heart. 
 






Favourites from the collection: Arco and Solaris
While we don’t like to play favourites, lets take a sneak peek at two collections we think you are going to love! 

Arco: Arco is Inspired by the breathtaking architecture of Italy, this range is all about those curved archways and the history-packed marble that captivated our designer. It's like bringing a slice of the Mediterranean right into your home – perfect for those shared meals and laid-back alfresco evenings.

Solaris: Solaris started as a creative journey for designer Sarah Strickland.  Drawing inspiration from nature, Sarah employed the sunprint technique, using a bouquet of handpicked garden flowers on light-sensitive paper to capture the essence of wild summer blooms. Translated digitally, the result is a stunning ode to nature's elegance, adorning each bed linen piece.
