Entertaining with Ecology

Christmas is all about spending quality time with family and friends. It’s the most wonderful time of year. After all, there’s nothing better than a festive table spread that brings together your nearest and dearest. However, in the course of 18 months, many of us have missed out on celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and an array of life milestones, so this year’s celebrations will be all that more important, obviously all within a covid-safe environment.

If you’ll be hosting and having people over, here are some simple tips to help you have an enjoyable and festive time:

1. Set The Table Early
Set the table the day before. This saves so much time on the day of entertaining and is something that can be done fairly quickly. To set the table, keep it simple but always make sure to have some form of a centrepiece - it’s fresh flowers for me!

The gorgeous Twill vase makes for a perfect table centrepiece. Choose from either the wide Twill Vase 18.5cm or the Tall Twill Vase 25cm.

2. Opt For No-Cook Appetizers
Put together beautiful cheese and charcuterie boards instead of fussing over hot appetizers. They’re delicious and can be assembled in minutes on pretty wooden as we’ve done with Ecology’s Alto board. Include an assortment of cured meats, cheeses, olives, crackers, grapes, spiced nuts, and spreads!

@sourdoughclub.au uses her Alto serving board to create a no-cook appetiser spread. She also uses her Punch Jug, Punch Dip Bowl, Speckle Ebony Small Serving Bowl and Twill High Ball glass.

3. Organising Drinks
Forget stocking a bar cart with endless supplies for everyone’s favourite drinks. Decide on one or two festive picks and perhaps throw in a homemade jug of a cocktail or mocktail.

The Ecology Spring Summer 2021/2022 release includes so much new glassware that's perfect for any dinnertable. Shop all Ecology glassware here.

4. Don't Sweat The Small Stuff!
Remember, there’s no such thing as perfect and not everything will go exactly as planned. Rather than focusing on shortcomings, think about what you can realistically handle and write it down. I often prioritize a list with the top things I absolutely need and then go down the checklist. If you can host a dinner and don’t have time for homemade desserts, there’s no shame in swinging past the local bakery. Plus we have you covered with all your serveware needs!

@stylingmyinterior's table spread includes her Ecology Clementine serveware, Ecology Canvas Dinner Set, Ecology Origin Serveware and Speckle Gold Handled Mugs.
